One Block Wonderz Quilt Pattern PDF

Growing up in Melbourne, the cold fish that I was amassed a mighty collection of knits. I have also saved a basketful that my lovely mother-in-law wore. I have intended for a while to remake them to cover the family
with her love. These and many other family jumpers have been saved but they are now finally destined for the cut - into hexagons and other one (or two) block wonders. With this surprisingly simple technique we rotary cut repeats of a shape using a template of your choice. You may use these as a single layer or double/backed layer.

We use both an overlocker and sewing machine;
The overlocker to trim and edge them. The overlocker controls the knit fabric well.
The sewing machine to stitch the butted units together
Hand stitch, machine stitch and even use of the embellisher can be incorporated as an embellishment.

If you don’t have a collection of knits then polar fleece and commercial knit yardage will work. T-shirts work very well as either two or three layered pieces. Woven wools & heavy/upholstery fabrics also work but do not have the cuddle and drape of knits. They also need to be able fit comfortably through the overlocker - either single or paired so not tooooo thick.
