Handbagz Quilt Pattern PDF
Here is a girly treat to remind us just what fun dressing up can be!
In usual Stargazey style these blocks are simply cut from rectangles and easily pieced. A big trim at the end creates perfect block sizings. Make each handbag from one fabric or go wild and choose three fabrics to contrast. Then all your bags will coordinate beautifully with each other. Flaps are cut to shape as you make up each handbag. Keep them simple and rectangular, make easy triangles, or use your imagination and stitch some groovy curves. You can decorate with buttons to close the flaps. You could also change the shape of the hand appliqued handles. In my sample I have made three handbagz which have a “secret” compartment - just like a real one! These are no harder to make, they just take a little more fabric.
Consider making a wall hanging to hold precious bits and pieces - one that takes just the lippy or one that holds the kitchen sink.
Included also is a bonus Handbagz Handbag pattern for turning your blocks into a functional bag.
This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.
